Castaway Presents: Wilson the Volleyball’s Top 6 Desert Island Albums
The age-old question: what albums would you bring if you were stranded on a desert island?
Although this inquiry is usually directed toward humans, even bloody volleyballs deserve to share their opinions. Arguably the most beloved piece of sports equipment in movie history, Wilson stole the hearts of everyone who watched Castaway. The movie, which saw Tom Hanks play a supporting role to the spherical hero of the film, provoked viewers to choke back tears when the perfectly crafted bundle of panels and stitchwork floated away forever. (Sorry, no spoiler tags. You should have watched this masterpiece by now).
In no particular order, here is the list Wilson graciously offered up. If you are expecting anything from the Beach Boys’ catalog, you can log off the internet forever.
Jock Jams, Volume 4
After three noble efforts, Jock Jams finally got it right with its 4th installment. This collection of songs, which includes hits ranging from Salt-n-Pepa’s “Push It” to “Tubthumping” by Chumawamba, really gets the blood pumping. This should come as no surprise considering how athletic Wilson is. So athletic in fact, you can practically find him in every sporting goods aisle from Target to Dick’s.
