NEW YORK — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the U.S. Representative for New York’s 14th congressional district, caught heat for donning a white dress that said ‘Tax the Rich’ on the backside in blood-red lettering at the Met Gala when she could have worn the meat dress Lady Gaga offered to lend her, sources confirmed.
“I declined her offer because I thought the dress I ended up wearing said ‘Tax the Rice,’ not ‘Tax the Rich,’” admitted Ocasio-Cortez. “I had some bad Rice-A-Roni, you know, the San Francisco treat? I nearly crapped my pants on the subway, so I said we need to fight against the Big Rice Industrial Complex. That’s why I mistakenly wore the gown that I did. Now, I completely regret it. A meat dress would have been perfect for this occasion. If you add an ‘a’ to Met, you get Meat! Pretty cool, huh? Besides, I love ribeye steaks because I have ribs, and I have eyes.”
Lady Gaga was wrapping up a recording session with Willie Nelson when she heard about the fallout over Ocasio-Cortez’s choice of attire.
